One of my old band mates summers in Southampton, Ontario, a tiny town on the edge of Lake Huron. He once boasted to me that his west facing beach town was once ranked, by a legitimate publication, as one of the top places in the world to catch a sunset. Having now experienced a couple of them personally, I have to say they were not wrong. What better way to bring Side A - the penultimate side of our trip - to a close?

Lyrics

From a beach on the east shores of Huron, by the banks of the Ol’ Saugeen River / With a breeze gentle blowin’, the long shadows growin’ / I am drawn by a groundswell of shimmer / Come the end of a summer’s day shinin’ / Sinks the last of her flame to horizon / Til the skies burn with vista of ember / And the soul catches fire with splendour / It’s as near to perfection as some get / is the pause for a Southampton Sunset
